Our courses aim to equip Humanitarian Staff with skills to both prevent and respond to the most prevalent security threats.
Our experienced team use a varied range of training methodology to work with participants to improve team and individual skills and confidence in managing their own personal security and reducing risk.

Dave is Clarity’s founding Director and has worked in the humanitarian sector for the last 18 years.
He began his humanitarian career in 1998 initially working in field logistics progressing to programme management but switched to full time security roles post 9/11 when he was the security manager for an NGO re-entering Afghanistan in January 2002.
With a degree in Disaster Management and a background in military risk management, Dave has worked for a number of INGO’s, the Red Cross movement and the United Nations. Dave has worked in many locations including Afghanistan, Bosnia, South Sudan, Darfur, Iraq, Indonesia, Tajikistan, Liberia, Ethiopia and Malawi.
He has also worked as a security consultant to a number of organisations.
Our core instructors are experienced trainers who also have managed humanitarian programmes and teams as well as security so they understand the concept of security within the context of humanitarian operations. The core team is enhanced where appropriate with expert trainers in key areas such as Conflict resolution, Close Protection and Vehicle Training.
